Incline Village, NV - Two seasons after a $13-million renovation, the Championship Golf Course at Incline Village has been named to the Best in State List by Golf Digest Magazine.  Long recognized as one of Lake Tahoe's premier golf courses, the Championship Course can now proudly call itself the one of the top ten best courses in the state of Nevada.  This par-72, 18-hole course was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and opened for play in 1964.  Golfers who visit the course will experience a course that Robert Trent Jones, Sr. once described as the ideal mountain layout. The staff at the Championship Course is very proud of being named the eighth best in the state.  Some of the other courses named to the list are: Shadow Creek in North Las Vegas, Wolf Creek in Mesquite and Edgewood Tahoe in Stateline. Golf Digest has conducted America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses rankings since 1966, making it the oldest and most respected ranking in the game.  The magazine's panel of more than 800 low-handicap male and female golfers nationwide played and rated the courses on criteria including Shot Values, Resistance to Scoring, Design Variety, Memorability, Aesthetics, Conditioning and Ambiance.  After panelists filed their evaluations, Golf Digest averaged the scores of the seven categories and totaled the averages to determine the overall rankings.  The Championship Course at Incline Village is situated at 6,500-feet elevation with a course rating of 74.1 and a slope of 144.  Course amenities include a 23,000 square foot clubhouse with banquet facilities, The Grille at the Chateau, snack bar, bar carts and an award winning golf shop.  The Championship Course also offers lessons by PGA and LPGA staff, state of the art driving range, putting and chipping greens, complete tournament services and professional club fitting.  Premium right and left-handed rental clubs are available for men and women.  The golf course is open daily from 7am - 6pm, mid-May to mid-October, weather permitting.   Incline Village is located on the north-east shore of Lake Tahoe in Nevada.  For more information on the Championship Course at Incline Village or The Chateau, please call 877-GO-VIEWS (877-468-4397), or visit www.YourTahoePlace.com.
